On the Grand Canal, under the famous Rialto Bridge in Venice, the annual boat festival Regata Storica is held every first Sunday in September, with richly decorated historic vessels. But of course this goes completely wrong on this Fleroux puzzle! Because from one of the many side canals a freight boat steams at full speed onto the Grand Canal, (intentionally?) ramming a police boat that was just on its way to foil an escape of wealthy mafiosi from the Palazzo Civran, where the Guardia police station is located. di Finanza is located. And that sets off a chain of events that you can discover while puzzling. Our regular guests Bob and Nancy also have to work again. You'll see how things turn out for them when you complete the puzzle!
